As actively engaged Rotarians, members offer to be responsible for choosing our programs on a monthly basis. July programs are by Rotarians Mary Connell and Dale Dalton. Programs for August will be gathered by Shannon Sander-Welzien and Holly Youngquist.
Today will be the “Passing of the Gavel.” New Rotary President Rich Klahn will receive the symbolic gavel to begin his yearlong tenure. Former President Jim Bruhn will provide his thoughts and accomplishments by our club from his 2016-2017 year of service to our club and Rich will share his experience at the International convention recently held in Atlanta, Georgia, while outlining his Club goals for 2017-2018.
n July 17: Wondering what is going on in downtown Clinton? This program features representatives from the University of Iowa Extension office Outreach and Engagement working on the local art murals.
n July 24: Sean Williams, Rotarian and administrator of Mercy Hospital, will be speaking about the new linear accelerator for cancer treatment.

You are invited to attend any of these interesting programs by contacting a Rotarian and joining as our guest. Luncheons are held at the Tuscany Event Center from noon to 1 p.m. each Monday.

The club approved new board members, Sue Watkins as Membership Chair and Brian Wright as president elect-elect. They join existing, reconfirmed board members, Ida Lorenz, Lynn McGraw, Shannon Sander-Welzien, Idell Klein and President elect Jennifer Graf. Jim Bruhn will be ex-officio while Libby Goodman represents as Assistant Governor.
Rotarians will be attending their annual social event on the Showboat to see “Footloose” on July 13, preceded by appetizers at the Candlelight.
Rotarians are planning on a painting project for the Clinton Showboat this summer/fall. Note our “Welcome” signage in downtown Clinton.
