I would like to give a big thank you to the Hy-Vee Store for again offering a free breakfast to area veterans.

It was great to see veterans from World War II to current conflicts sitting with veterans from all services enjoying camaraderie among themselves and talking "war stories."

Also, I want to give a thank you to other food businesses and area schools having veterans program and the Clinton Herald for highlighting veterans and their service.

Also thanks to AMVETS Post 28 and the good job of their flag retirement program showing proper respect for our worn, used American flags, and community members who attended the program.

Director, Clinton County Veterans Affairs
