‘Old Glory’ will fly proudly

How many times have you seen a displayed flag in less than good condition? While you’re happy to see someone’s patriotism, you are sad that the flag is allowed to look tattered and dirty.
The Clinton Community College Student Networkers and Programmers Club is doing something about it and are preparing for a project that involves identifying and replacing some worn United States flags in the area.
The project began as the club members were talking about seeing several U.S. flags in the community that were in bad shape.
Camanche and Clinton postal workers have provided a list of homes in Clinton and in Camanche that had flags that should be replaced. The SNAP students will make contacts on Monday and, with the owner’s permission, replace the worn or torn flags.
The flags will then be given to the VFW for disposal. This project is provided at no cost to the homeowner.
What a great way to spruce up our city as people work to make sure the nation’s symbol can be proudly flown.
