Couple thanks those who helped after fall

The Clinton Herald

---- — On Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 my husband took a fall and was seriously injured.

We have several people to thank for the fact that he is alive and well now.

First of all, the Andover Volunteer Fire Department for their fast response and heroic efforts. The firemen had to carry my husband on a backboard down 12 steps and up a snowy hill to get him to the ambulance. So many volunteers showed up to help and so quickly. They did an awesome job and definitely helped to save his life.

Once he arrived at Mercy Medical Center we were treated with efficiency and kindness — everyone from admissions, to the emergency room doctor and nurses, to the chaplain were very helpful. Dr. Maddox did his surgery and was wonderful both before and after making sure we knew what was going on and that all of our questions were answered. After surgery the nurses on fourth floor, lab techs, respiratory therapist and food service did an excellent job of taking care of him for the nine days he was in the hospital.

We would especially like to thank Pastor Pool for coming to the emergency room on the night of the accident as well as visiting us several times throughout our stay and praying with us.

A huge thank you goes to our families and friends for visits and prayers. We couldn’t have made it without the help of our parents, brothers and sisters, and children who continue to be there for us even now that we are home.

Most of all we thank God for his glory and healing grace.

Happy New Year!!

Kevin and Camellia Dell,
