These bills are now being considered by the Iowa House, where my colleague Rep. Steve Olson (R-DeWitt) serves.
This week Rep. Olson and Sen. Nancy Boettger (R-Harlan) were named the recipients of the Herbert Hoover Uncommon Public Service award. Each year one state senator and one state representative are chosen for this award.
A recipient “exemplifies and demonstrates honesty, integrity, and uncommon and extraordinary public service to the people of Iowa”. I believe that both Rep. Olson and Sen. Boettger fit that description. Since Rep. Olson represents half of my district, I have gotten to know him well.
I have truly appreciated his advice and example, and I hope you’ll join me in congratulating him on this nice honor.
Senator Rita Hart represents Clinton County and northern Scott County in the Iowa Senate.
