More than books!

YA Book Talk. The YA Summer Reading Program starts off with its first book talk. The Maze Runner book discussion will be at 4 p.m. on June 12 in the teen section. We’ll be talking about favorite parts, characters and hopes for the movie coming out this fall.

Acupuncture: the Ancient Art of Eastern Healing. Come to a presentation on Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. by Oriental Medicine expert, Dr. Richard Betts. This discussion of acupuncture will help you understand the body’s important requirements for both electrical magnetic energy as well as nutrition. Minecraft free play for kids! On Monday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m., sixth graders and younger can come to the library to play Minecraft independently. There are no challenges or competitions, just fun. The computers will be available first come, first served.

Clinton Public Library Fiber Circle. Meets in the Root Cellar on the first and third Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and started on June 2. The Clinton Public Library Fiber Circle is for anyone interested in fiber, fabric and all things related – from spinning, knitting, felting, weaving, crocheting, dyeing, quilting, cross stitch, needlepoint or any other fiber art. Crafters are encouraged to bring projects, wheels, looms, needles and play for two hours as we share and learn from each other.

Story time. Toddler Time will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m. The preschool story times will take place on Wednesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 19 at 10 a.m. The theme for all story times is Weather! If you have questions, please contact children’s staff at 563-243-5436.

Legos at Lyons. Join our Legos club which meets every Tuesday at the Lyons Branch Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Kids in grades one to five are invited to come Create! Build! Design! their own Legos world. The club meets next on June 17.
