I object to the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Harrison Drive and Lincoln Way. The quarter million dollar cost of this project is something the city cannot afford and it is not necessary.
There are currently stop lights at the Mill Creek Parkway, Manufacturing Drive, South 25th Street, Valley West, South 19th Street, South 17th Street and South 14th Street. That is more than enough for this short stretch of road. The existing lights provide a sufficient break in traffic for those who wish to cross Lincoln Way to do so. I drive through that stretch of road a dozen times a week at various hours and rarely see more than one or two vehicles attempting to turn on or off Harrison.
I urge the council to reject this proposed project.
