Johnnie Mae Kellar
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel in Childersburg, Ala. for Johnnie Mae Kellar, 87, of Picayune who passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at her residence.
Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens under the direction of Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Childersburg.
Dr. Jasper Fail and the Rev. Ralph Barrow will officiate at the service.
Mrs. Kellar was formerly of Childersburg. She was a Deaconess of the New Testament Baptist Church in Picayune.
She was preceded in death by: one son, John William Boggs; her parents, John Wesley and Mary Francis Higginbotham; and brothers and sisters, Louis Orbin Higginbotham, Clarence Cleveland Higginbotham, Howard Franklin Higginbotham, Carol Griffin Higginbotham, Lilly Mae Higginbotham, and David Woodrow Higginbotham; Dorothy Ann Kellar and Geneva Catherine Craddock.
Survivors include: her husband, Oliver E. Kellar of Picayune; one son, James O. Pike, Jr. (Barbara) of Adger, Ala.; four daughters, Mary Jane Lee (Ed) of Sylacauga, Ala., Ruby Jewell Reagan of Childersburg, Jacquelyn Lorene Kropp of Houston, Texas and Darlene Phillips Mathis (Paul) of Childersburg; 19 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Mathis, Joshua Mathis, Zachary Mathis, Howard Higginbotham, Frank Higginbotham, and Carol Higginbotham. Honorary pallbearer will be D.J. Pody.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
