On July 12, written invitations were extended to Iowa gubernatorial candidates Chet Culver and Jim Nussle to participate in a debate of the issues affecting Iowans.

Officials deem Summit a success
A delegation of about 65 people — from seven counties in Iowa and Illinois — returned from Washington Wednesday following a busy but successful and well-received four-day visit with Sens. Boland calls for tougher vicious animal laws
Illinois State Rep. Mike Boland, D-East Moline, announced Sunday that he is introducing legislation in the Illinois General Assembly that would make it a Class 4 felony if an uncontrolled and unaltered dog attacks someone and inflicts serious physical harm.
