Preparation for the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa is taking place among many local businesses in Clinton, including the Bicycle Station owned by Chad Jensen, a three-time RAGBRAI bicyclist.
Jensen offers his own tips to riders saying, “The most important thing to monitor is your bike’s tire pressure. If tire pressure gets too low, the tire is much more likely to go flat when hitting a rock or even just a bump.”
He also suggests spending as much time as possible riding before RAGBRAI.
His “rule of thumb is” to put 600 miles on your bike within the year before you ride in an event like RAGBRAI.
When asked for a suitable bicycle for RAGBRAI, Jensen recommended the Cannondale Synapse.
Both men and women models are available at The Bicycle Station.
The Bicycle Station is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.- noon Saturday.
The business performs bicycle tune-ups and repairs, as well as selling new and used bicycles.
Jensen would like to welcome the RAGBRAI riders to Clinton, and invites everyone to stop by The Bicycle Station at 218 Main Ave. in Clinton.
