County towns prepare for RAGBRAI riders
For 40 years, bike enthusiasts from around the world have baptized their tires in the Missouri and the Mississippi rivers to bookend a 450-mile plus trek across Iowa. This year, the 8 to 10,000 participants in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, or RAGBRAI, will pedal into Clinton on July 28 after a weeklong July ride, and will find the banks of the Mississippi waiting for them.
Clinton’s RAGBRAI theme is announced
“Where the Rubber Meets the River” is Clinton’s chosen theme for the 40th anniversary of RAGBRAI that will end the 471-mile journey across Iowa for 10,000 bike riders in Clinton on July 28.
