Reader opposed to PPEL

On Oct. 11 my wife and I were eating breakfast and listening to the morning news. They were giving the news about the school board meeting and trying for the PPEL tax when they mentioned someone who called the people “criminal ignorant voters.” But we missed the individual’s name.

This miffed me so I called the radio station and they gave me his name. I figured the paper would print the details of the meeting. The meeting was mentioned but this endearing name never made print. Maybe the paper just prints their point of view?

Evidently they are again going to put the PPEL tax up for vote. They better have their money barrel ready if it passes. Then it will be just like the federal government and their pork barrel giveaway. Just line up and get your share. If this PPEL tax had been used as it was sold to us, then these 50-year-old school buildings could still be used for what they were built for.

Clinton School District Superintendent Randy Clegg must be in this age range, I think it is time for him to go! From what I hear he got the boot from his last job. He must have been raised a poor little rich boy.

I still feel committed to the fact that we the taxpayers are the best ones to decide where our tax money ought to go, not some overpaid school superintendent.

Clinton used to have quite a reputation for their school system when people moved in here, but I don’t here this anymore. What happened?
