CLINTON — The Clinton School Board will discuss an offer by Howes and Jefferies Realtors for the purchase of the Irving School property, 520 16th Ave. South, in South Clinton at its monthly business meeting Monday. Irving currently serves as the district’s plant maintenance facility and warehouse and is in the area where Archer Daniels Midland is purchasing property to make way for a new plastics plant.
The board will be asked to authorize School Superintendent Randy Clegg to apply for a voluntary annexation of the district’s transportation site, located at 3209 Dunn Road, Camanche, to the city of Clinton.
Contracts for the district’s paraeducators and food service employees will be presented to the board for approval as well as a policy limiting the number of foreign exchange students attending Clinton High School each year.
Contracts for two new administrators will be submitted to the board for approval as well as several resignations.
The board will be asked to place on the May 8 agenda a resolution naming the Clinton High School track the “Bill Holsclaw Track,” in honor of the long-time Clinton High track and cross country coach.
A hearing will take place at the beginning of Monday’s meeting for the public to appear and present objections to or arguments in favor of the proposed 2006-2007 budget. The meeting will conclude with a closed session for a parent appeal regarding a disciplinary decision.
The meeting will take place at city hall at 7 p.m.
