Project puts iPads in Fulton schools

The Clinton Herald

---- — FULTON, Ill. — The River Bend Educational Foundation Trustees this year selected the purchase of additional iPads for all three school buildings in the district as its annual project.

The foundation, celebrating its 30th anniversary, is designating their annual fund drive to the project.

Demonstrations by teachers and students showing how effective the technology tools are used in the classroom provided the motive to purchase more of them.

River Bend Technology Coordinator Cheryl Piercy said the district is grateful for the donation.

“The additional iPads will allow our students more exposure to use them in their classrooms,” Piercy said. “At the current time, we are exposing our students to a variety of technology including iPads, laptops and desktops. Technology engages and motivates the students.”

To date, 20 iPads have been purchased. Both organizations and individuals have contributed to the iPad purchase project. The cost is $299 per iPad when 10 are purchased at the same time.

Donations to the foundation can be made to RBEF and mailed to the District Office at 1110 Third St. Donors will be listed on the program at the annual Academic Excellence Dinner on March 8.
