GOOSE LAKE — The Northeast School District has decide not to raise its published tax rate for the upcoming budget year.
Business Manager Kristy Weiss presented the 2015 fiscal year budget to the Northeast Board of Education on Wednesday night. The proposed budget follow’s the district’s goal not to raise the overall tax rate.
Going through a PowerPoint presentation, Weiss showed that the district’s taxable valuation with gas and electric is $187,041,937. After plugging in the different tax rates, the overall rate will be $14.83 per $1,000 taxable valuation. A total of $2.82 per $1,000 is in the debt service category.
The $14.83 tax rate is the same that was posted last year, before valuations dropped it to $14.65.
