CLINTON — Three candidates, with a wide range of experience, will compete for two seats on the Northeast Board of Education.
With paperwork due last week, three people are running in the school board election. Positions currently filled by Andy Friedrichsen and Mark Neblung are up for re-election.
Friedrichsen will run for a second term, having enjoyed the past four years. A former board member of 15 years, Mary Smith, said previously that she decided to run again to make sure the district provides a high quality of education.
Candidate Erin Meyermann has never held an office before. However, this mother of two felt now was the time to start.
“I just wanted to be involved in their education,” Meyermann said.
With children in second-grade and kindergarten, she hopes to be a fresh voice on the board.
The school board election is Sept. 10.
