Local students graduate from Western Illinois

MOLINE, Ill. — More than 550 students earned academic degrees after the 2013 summer semester at Western Illinois University.

This includes 68 students who earned academic degrees at the Quad-City campus.

Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to nearly 415 students. This number includes 68 graduates who earned Western’s Bachelor’s of General Studies degrees. Master’s degrees were earned by more than 135 graduates.

Academic distinction was awarded to undergraduate students who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.75 GPA.
