At the request of the Humane Society of the United States, country star and Texas native Miranda Lambert deployed her MuttNation team, buses and trucks to gather and evacuate adoptable pets from overcrowded Texas shelters in order to make room for animals affected by Hurricane Harvey. Dogs who were already in shelters before the deadly storm were relocated so that displaced pets in Houston could be housed and more easily reunited with their owners.

Dozens are dead and tens of thousands of Texans remain homeless, their homes and lives shattered by Hurricane Harvey’s epic deluge of flood water. Along with Congress, President Donald Trump's top priority should be getting as much disaster relief to Southeast Texas as quickly as possible.
