CLINTON — A few area teams are still hanging on in late rounds of the postseason, while a couple are just getting their starts this week.
Clinton, Camanche, Prince of Peace and Northeast girls have bowed out of regional play. The Bellevue girls will take on Cascade today at Dubuque Senior High School.
In Class 2A boys action, Northeast and Camanche have a district final game Tuesday night at Yourd Gymnasium at Clinton High School. Camanche and Northeast split games during the regular season, including a Camanche win just two weeks ago. That game will behind at at 7 p.m.
The River Hawks of Easton Valley also have a game that night, taking on Lisbon at North Linn High School and Calamus-Wheatland takes on North Linn at the same place immediately following that game.
The Clinton River Kings begin their postseason play with a first round game on Monday against Davenport West. The River Kings fell to the Falcons in close games both times they met during the regular season.
Over on the Illinois side, Fulton begins their postseason after wrapping up the regular season on Friday with a win at Orion. The Steamers will meet up with the Mustangs from Morrison for round one. Fulton comes into the postseason bracket as the No. 5 seed, while Morrison is No. 12. However, Morrison took a game from the Steamers earlier this season.
That game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Fulton, and the winner will play Riverdale. Fulton hosts the first three rounds of regional play.
