CLINTON — Ashford University Field will be busier than anticipated this fall.

The Clinton LumberKings and the Community State Banks in Fulton, Illinois, and Morrison, Illinois, announced today the addition of two more high school football games to be played at the field this fall.

Riverdale High School will host Fulton on Oct. 6 in the Riverside Classic, while Morrison will host Rockridge in the Stadium Showdown on Oct. 13. Both games will be played at Ashford University Field in Clinton, which also is the home stadium of the Clinton LumberKings.

Kickoff for both dates will be 5 p.m., starting with the junior varsity matchups and followed by the varsity games at approximately 7 p.m. These games are in addition to the second Lumber Bowl on Sept. 22, featuring Camanche and Mid-Prairie this year.

The field played host to Camanche last year in the inaugural Lumber Bowl, the first time the field housed a football contest in more than 30 years.

"Last year proved that football at this historic stadium not only works but thrives and extending the high school football schedule to three games is something we are happy to be a part of," Community State Bank President in Morrison Kevin Schisler said. "This will be a great opportunity for the students of the participating high schools to apply their talent in a venue that has been linked to so many great athletic events in our community. Thanks to the LumberKings for making this possible."

Tickets for all games are on sale now. All Riverdale, Fulton, Rockridge and Morrison High School and Three Rivers Athletic Conference passes will be honored. Tickets can be purchased online at
