The Lisbon Lions swept a baseball twinbill from the Prince of Peace Irish on West Field on Thursday, taking the opener 13-3 and the second game 18-3 in four innings.

“As has been the case all season, errors and walks do us in,” Prince of Peace coach Bob Mulholland said.

Such was the case against Lisbon, when the Irish committed 15 miscues in the two contests.

Lisbon took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the first game, matched in the second half of the frame by Prince of Peace when Lucas Laufenberg singled and later scored on a single by Seth Hinrichs.

The Lions scored four times in the third inning and eight times in the last four frames including three runs in the sixth inning on a three-run homer by Tait Simpson.

The Irish, batting first in the second contest, scored a single run in the opening inning and two in the third. Lisbon took the game out of their hands with four first-inning runs, nine in the second, four in the third and another in the fourth.
