BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Two former Clinton LumberKings played a role in a combined no-hitter for the Bakersfield Blaze on Friday. Bakersfield defeated Modesto, 3-0.
Osmer Morales threw five innings and allowed just one walk. He also struck out seven.
Jake Zokan picked up the winning decision in the no-no by throwing the last two innings. He threw 24 pitches and had 19 strikes.
"I've never been a part of something like this. I’m just trying to enjoy it," Zokan said in a telephone interview.
Zokan hasn't even up an earned run yet this season.
Isaac Sanchez, who did not pitch for the LumberKings, threw two perfect innings and struck out three Modesto batters.
