GOOSE LAKE — Camanche’s boys track and field team finished second at the Healy-Mattis Relays on Thursday with 120 team points behind meet champion Lisbon.

Thomas Brantley won both the 100 meter dash and the 110 hurdles. Brantley won the 100 in 11.17 seconds, marking that time as the eighth-fastest in Class 2A.

Brantley put in a time of 14.83 seconds in the 110 hurdles, good for second-fastest in Class 2A.

Camanche also won the 3,200-meter relay that involved Brice Everson, Tre Austin, Jeremiah Jones and Will Seeser. The Indians won in 8:32.97.

Jones finished second in the 400 at 53.0, edged by Northeast’s Will Hasken (52.39).

Hasken later won the 800 in 2:07.52.

Nick Kennicker won the 400 hurdles in 56.58. Kennicker holds the second-quickest time in Class 2A behind West Burlington Notre Dame’s Jacob Smith (54.81).

Bellevue’s Andrew Meyer swept the two distance races, as he broke the Northeast track record in the 3,200 (9:47.53). Meyer retained the state’s seventh-fastest spot in the 3,200.

Thomas Pollard, son of Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard, holds the state’s fastest time in all classes.

Meyer won the mile race in 4:38.88. Bellevue’s Alex Hinke also won in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 1 inch.

Calamus-Wheatland’s Cole Moeller won the high jump at 6-5.
