FULTON, Ill. — Fulton was a little quiet in the first four innings in Wednesday’s softball game against Riverdale, but the Steamers scored nine runs in the fifth inning en route to a 10-0 win.

Chelsea Lesniewski hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to spark the nine-run rally. Three batters later, Faith Kennedy hit a two-run homer.

No Steamer recorded an out in the rally, as the game ended because of the mercy rule. The game ended when catcher Maddy Andresen picked up an RBI single to cap a 4-for-4 day.

The Steamers accumulated five hits, forced five errors and had three walks in the fifth.
