CLINTON — Connor Evers claimed medalist honors for Prince of Peace, but Lisbon defeated the Irish 175-201 in boys golf Thursday at Valley Oaks Golf Course.
Evers’ round had six pars and three bogeys as he finished at 3-over-par 39. That was one stroke better than Lisbon’s Colton Krob, who had a birdie-3 on No. 9 to make it close.
Five Lions finished with scores in the 40s, which made the difference.
Rebels win triangular
CLINTON — Northeast recorded the best three scores and won a triangular meet against Bellevue and Marquette Catholic on Thursday at Canyon Creek Golf Course.
The Rebels finished with a 172, beating Bellevue by 17 strokes and the Mohawks by 35.
The Rebels’ Levi Banowetz claimed medalist honors with a 4-over-par 40. That put him two strokes ahead of teammate Jarrett Sterk, with fellow Rebel Chandler Sterk taking third with a 44. Banowetz birdied the par-5 eighth hole, while Jarrett Sterk had a birdie-3 on No. 9.
Connor Michels shot a 45 to lead Bellevue, while Daniel Schwager led Marquette Catholic with a 47.
