TIPTON — The Camanche Indians girls track and field team will send five events to the Iowa State Track and Field meet in Des Moines on Thursday through Saturday.

McKinzie McDaniel will compete individually in the 200-meter dash, as she made it with a time of 27.62.

Freshman Ashley Gonzalez made it in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.67, while teammates Sarah Powell and Karissa Turner each qualified in the discus with throws of 120-6 and 109-4 respectively.

The Indians 4x200-meter relay team of Turner, Courtney Harksen, Gonzalez and McDaniel qualified with a time of 1:48.73.

Turner, Gonzalez and McDaniel teamed up with Desirae Martinez to qualify in the Sprint medley with a time of 1:58.38.

The Bellevue Comets girls team will have entrants in six events at Des Moines.

Molly Sieverding will compete in the 100-meter dash and Paige Daugherty in the 200.

Sieverding’s time of 13.27 was good for 16th in the 2A field and Daugherty’s time of 27.40 was 15th in the 200.

The Comets 4x100 team of Sieverding, Becca Roth, Ashley Reed and Daugherty qualified with a time of 52.13.

The foursome also teamed up to qualify in the 4x200 with a time of 1:52.73.

Bellevue will send the quartet of Andrea Frank, Olivia Ambrosy, Madeline Schroeder and Katie Flogel to compete in the 4x800 after they qualified with a regional time of 10:22.67.

Sieverding, Roth, and Flogel teamed with Anna Lampe to make it in the Distance medley with a time of 4:26.97.

In the boys portion of the meet, Bellevue qualified two events while Camanche got one through.

Camanche’s Brad Maxwell will compete in the 800-meter run in Des Moines. Maxwell, a sophomore, qualified with a time of 2:04.80.

Bellevue will send the shuttle hurdle relay team of Jordan Ries, Tyler Ernst, Josh Cummings and Mitchell Michel to Drake Stadium.

Michel also qualified in the 110-meter hurdles.
