DECORAH — Camanche High School’s Chelsea Moore moved into the state singles semifinals while teammates Tiana Bark and Ashtyn Dixon advanced to the state doubles semifinals at the Iowa Girls Class 1A State Singles and Doubles Tournament Thursday.

Moore, the Class 1A defending state champion, rolled to a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins Thursday, first besting Ballard’s Niljana Stamenkovic before dispatching Fairfield’s Rachele Petit.

Bark and Dixon, the No. 3 seeds, also earned a pair of wins Thursday. They opened with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Norwalk’s Lisa McGonegle and Julianna Pearson, then took a 7-5, 6-2 decision over Katie Garrett and Jessica Klieman of Waterloo Columbus.

“The girls adjusted well to the different surface inside,” Camanche coach Erin Montgomery said. “We were inside for both rounds because of rain. Chelsea’s serve was excellent. Her opponents had a difficult time returning her serve. Dixon and Bark played well once they worked through the nerves of being out at state.”
