Coach Dan Sullivan liked the improvement he saw from his Clinton girls golf team as the River Queens placed third Monday in a triangular at Glynn’s Creek Golf Course.

Pleasant Valley won the team title with a 166, followed by North Scott (212) and Clinton (240).

“We had much lower scores,” Sullivan said. “The weather and course conditions were a lot different, and the girls were more confident in their second meet.”

Alli Gallardo shot a 55 for Clinton, which was missing Amanda Harrop.

“We’re right on track,” Sullivan said.

Anna Cullinan of Pleasant Valley was the meet medalist with a 37.

“PV is just a powerhouse,” Sullivan said. “Their coach said they’ve got nine or 10 girls who could shoot in the 40s.

Clinton returns to Glynn’s Creek on Thursday for the North Scott Invitational.
