CLINTON — Clinton High School has announced the hiring of Eric Gettes to serve as girls soccer coach this spring.

Gettes coached the Clinton boys team from 1987 to 1990. He was named Mississippi Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1989. He has 29 years of experience as a soccer coach at various levels.

“I feel fortunate that we were able to hire someone of Eric’s knowledge and experience in soccer to coach our girls,” Clinton athletic director Gary Lueders said. “I look forward to working together with Eric to provide our girls a positive athletic experience.”

Gettes replaces former Clinton High athlete Sally Dehner as the girls coach.
