MIDLAND, Mich. — Clinton came up with a huge rally in the later innings to knock off Great Lakes 5-3 on Wednesday.

The LumberKings trailed 3-0 after the hosts scored twice in the fourth inning and once more in the sixth.

Clinton erupted for four runs in the seventh to take the lead for good.

With one out, K.C. Herren walked and scored on a double to left by David Paisano.

Chris Kemp followed with a two-run homer to right to tie the game.

After a strikeout, Hunter Harrigan followed with his first homer of the year. The shot to left field made it 4-3.

Clint-on got an insurance run in the eigh-th. Mauro Gomez singled to left, went to second on a balk, move to third on a groundout and scored on an error.

Kasey Kiker (5-3) earned the victory and Josh Lueke gained his third save.

Arismendy Castillo (2-8) was tagged with the loss.

The teams conclude their series with a game tonight. The contest starts at 6 p.m. Clinton time.

The LumberKings then return home for two games at Alliant Energy Field against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Both Friday’s and Saturday’s contests start at 7 p.m.
