CLINTON — The Clinton LumberKings have announced their 2010 season schedule. The campaign begins Thursday, April 8 with the start of a three-game series against Peoria at Alliant Energy Field.

The LumberKings will face two new teams next season: the Bowling Green Hot Rods and Lake County Captains. Both of whom will join the Midwest League from the South Atlantic League. Lake County has served as the Cleveland Indians' low Class A affiliate since 2003, while Bowling Green completed its first season as the Tampa Bay Rays' low-A club.

Clinton receives a hearty helping of Western Division foes in 2010.

Of their 140 games, the LumberKings will face the Eastern Division only 24 times. They play division opponents in their first 53 games. Clinton makes trips to Bowling Green, Dayton, Great Lakes and Lansing, but not to Fort Wayne, Lake County, South Bend or West Michigan.

The Midwest League has extended its all-star break from three to four days next season. The heartland league's All-Star Game transpires July 24 at Fort Wayne's Parkview Field.

The LumberKings will release game times and a promotional schedule for the 2010 season in the upcoming months.

All 2010 games will be carried live on AM 1390 KCLN in Clinton and online at For tickets, merchandise or more information, contact the LumberKings at (563) 242-0727 or
