CLINTON — Clinton junior Whitney Miller has been named to the All-Mississippi Athletic Conference volleyball first team for the 2006 season.

Classmate Emily Tuisl was a second-team selection.

Miller, a 5-foot-6 setter, was among the MAC leaders in several statistical categories.

They included assists (she was fourth with 8.32 per game), digs (seventh with 4.17 a game) and aces (0.46 a game).

Tuisl, a 5-9 outside hitter, was the River Queens’ top hitting threat. She was among the league leaders in kills with 2.17 per game.

One River Queen was named to the MAC honorable mention list, 5-10 senior middle blocker Sarah Weiss.

The MAC’s player of the year was Betten-dorf’s Ashley Lichten-berg, who earned the honor for the second season in a row while leading the Bulldogs to a repeat state tournament appearance.
