GOOSE LAKE — Big East Conference baseball champ Northeast solidified that standing in style Monday night.

Jordan Howe fired a no-hitter and struck out 12 as the Rebels blanked Olin 10-0 in five innings.

Howe issued just one walk.

Luke Rorah belted a two-run homer in a six-run second inning for the Rebels, who moved to 10-1 in league play and 23-4 overall.

Dylan Diedrich added a two-run double in the second and Shawn Johnston a two-run single during the frame.

Diedrich finished with two doubles.

“We’ve won the conference five out of the last six years,” Northeast coach Jeff Howe said. “This one was really sweet. These kids have played the most to their potential of any team I’ve had.

“I’m pretty proud of them. In tough games this team has played very good defense. The kids pride themselves on that. It’s really been a team effort. They had to work hard for it.”
