CAMANCHE — The Northeast Rebels downed the Camanche Indians 18-3 in the non-conference prep baseball matchup of the Big East Conference rivals.

Northeast pitcher Mitch Haferbier collected his first career win as the Rebels pounded out 11 hits and collected 10 walks.

Northeast scored three in the first, six in the second, two in the third to take the 11-1 lead.

The Rebels scored seven runs in the fourth to Camanche’s two. The game ended early due to the 15-run rule.

Jordan Howe, Matt Truninger, Jake Dever and Tanner Loots all contributed two hits in the win, while Colten Hilgendorf had two for the Indians.

Howe, Dever, Shaun Eberhart and Loots drove in two runs apiece, while Camanche’s runs came from the bats of Brock Gilbert, C.J. Saxon and Mickey Cochran.

The Rebels are now 2-2 on the season while the Indians fall to 1-3.

Camanche will travel to Preston tonight to take on the Trojans. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
