GOOSE LAKE — Northeast struck for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and rolled past East Central 10-0 in five innings Wednesday to open the high school baseball season for both teams.

Starting pitcher Ryne Lingle had a double and drove in two runs for Northeast, while Marty Hansen had two hits and two RBIs; Spencer Lueders delivered three hits and one RBI; and Matt Truninger drove in a pair of runs.

Lingle, Mitch Haferbier, Seth Mommsen and Jordan Howe combined on the three-hit shutout.
