Reiley leads Prophets

PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Cassie Reiley swished the cords for 26 points and dished off seven assists Saturday as Prophetstown dealt Bureau Valley a 61-33 loss in Three Rivers Conference action.

Big half aids Comets

ERIE, Ill. — The Sterling Newman Comets ran up a 36-13 first half lead over the Erie Cardinals in a Three Rivers Conference girls basketball game Saturday.

Newman’s lead was more than the Cardinals could handle as they fell to the Comets, 67-46. Kara Snowden and Mariah Pratt shared team scoring honors for Erie with 12 points each.

“This afternoon we came out flat in the first half and Newman made us pay for it,” said Erie coach Brian Howell. “In the second  half we played with more energy and effort and were able to play even with them.”

Northeast beats Warriors

WHEATLAND — Demi Diedrich became the fifth girl in Northeast basketball history to score 1,000 points in her career during a 54-31 win over Calamus-Wheatland Big East Conference play Saturday.
