AMBOY, Ill. — Fulton bounced back from a loss in the opening game and defeated Amboy 16-25, 25-16, 25-20 on Thursday night in its first Three Rivers Conference volleyball match of the season.

The Steamers (2-0) used a balanced attack to win. Liz Sanquist led the Steamers with seven kills, while Lindsey Renkes and Amber Grant had six apiece. Grant led Fulton with five blocks, while Renkes added four.

Fulton is back in action Tuesday at Prophetstown.

Riverdale rallies past Fillies

PORT BYRON, Ill. — Riverdale dropped the first game, then came back to beat Morrison 24-26, 25-18, 25-20 on Thursday in Three Rivers volleyball.

Erin Carney had six kills, Danielle Stralow delivered four aces and Shelby McBride recorded 13 assists to lead the Fillies.

ERIE, Ill. — Erie won the first game, but Sterling Newman rallied to win the next two and record a 21-25, 25-10, 25-22 Three Rivers victory.

Lizzy Garrison led the Cardinals with eight kills and four service aces.

PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Bureau Valley claimed a Three Rivers Conference victory against Prophetstown, winning 25-15, 25-13 on Thursday.

Danielle Nixon had three kills to lead the Prophets.

SAVANNA, Ill. — West Carroll kicked off the volleyball season with a 25-14, 25-12 win against visiting East Dubuque on Thursday.

Becca Fritz led the Thunder at the net with eight kills and three blocks, while Kelsey Bull added seven kills. Chelsey Sipe had 24 assists and three aces.
