CLINTON — The Clinton River Queens swimming team won 11 of the 12 events on the way to a 108-78 Mississippi Athletic Conference win over the Muscatine Muskies at Howard Judd Pool Tuesday night.

Clinton’s Patricia Pitschi was part of four wins, while teammates Amanda Bouchard, Brianna Eizenga and Libby Hess were in on three wins apiece.

Pitschi won the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.76) and 100 butterfly (1:04.04). She also teamed Hess, Taylor Rippon and Larissa Wilden to win the 200 medley relay (2:00.40) and with Bouchard, Erika Hunter and Katie Stanley to win the 400 freestyle relay (4:05.85).

The Queens (5-2, 3-1 MAC) swept the three relays, as Bouchard, Eizenga, Hess and Wilden combined to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.68).

Eizenga also won the 200 (2:08.11) and 500 (5:36.88) freestyles. Bouchard won the 100 freestyle (58.70), Hess won the backstroke (1:13.14), Rippon won the 200 individual medley (2:25.43) and Katie Hansen won the 1-meter diving competition (182.70).

“We had 32 lifetime bests that came from 14 of our 20 girls,” Clinton coach June Wilden said. “Muscatine has double the swimmers we do, but we swam and dove very well to outdistance them with high quality races.

“Those girls who had three of more lifetime bests were Rachel Harden, Taylor Gutierrez, Natasha Kerr and Alyssa Wells. Taylor Rippon, Libby Hess and Amanda Bouchard were outstanding. We are hoping this meet, along with more intensity in practice will bring even more success to our swimmers and divers.”

The River Queens visit Pleasant Valley for a matchup for second place in the MAC next Tuesday.
