BURLINGTON— The Clinton River King golf team finished seventh in a 13-team field at the Burlington Invitational Tournament Monday.

The River Kings were led by top-25 finishers Elliott Deering (20th) and Shane Nier (23rd) who shot an 84 and an 85 respectively.

Clinton got strong showings from Brennen Roling (89), Alex Feaster (90), Cameron Harrop (93) and Logan Hood (94).

“We are seeing some steady improvement slowly but surely. We are striving for that improvement so hopefully we will continue to work hard and see our scores continue to drop throughout the rest of the season,” River King head coach Paul Niedermeyer said of his team’s performance.

“We beat all of the teams that I thought we could beat, so all in all it was a pretty good day for us.”
