CLINTON — The Clinton golf team finished third at the seven-team River King Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at Clinton Country Club.

The River Kings totaled a 52-over-par 330 to finish behind Davenport North (327) and tournament champion Pleasant Valley (316). Burlington finished two shots behind Clinton, while Muscatine, North Scott and Davenport West made up the final three spots.

Jeremy Miller led Clinton with a 7-over 79, which placed him in a six-way tie for fourth.

Clinton’s Christian Rowan fired an 81 to become the invite’s sophomore medalist. Rowan’s total tied him for 12th place overall.

The River Kings had a senior trio shoot in the 80s. Tony Balk shot an 84, Logan Hood finished with an 86 and Matt Gray shot an 89. Steve Davis fired a 95, Connor Hood delievered a 97 and Alex Baker finished with a 98.

Owen Bell of Davenport North shot a 5-over 77 to claim both senior and overall medalist honors.

Tyler Hoelting of Pleasant Valley earned junior medalist honors after shooting a 78, which tied him for second place with Davenport West’s Andy Ode.

Pleasant Valley’s Spencer Payne and North Scott’s Bobby Wolfe shared freshman medalist honors after each shot a 79.
