DAVENPORT — Jackie Shovlain drained four 3-pointers and poured in 20 points and teammate Devvin Rolston added 15 as the Clinton River Queens rolled to a 58-28 Mississippi Athletic Conference win over the Davenport Central Blue Devils Tuesday night.

Clinton (8-9, 7-6 MAC), which hit seven 3-pointers in all, led 17-7 after one quarter, 31-13 at the half and 48-21 after three quarters.

The Queens outrebounded Central 29-11. Sophomore Ellen Russell contributed eight points. Senior starter Barb Kremer missed the game due to injury.

The game also marked the varsity debuts of sophomores Mollie Enwright, Carly Green and Whitney Miller.

“We came out very focused and ready to play,” Clinton coach Bill Misiewicz said. “We were able to execute some offensive wrinkles. The kids really played hard and attacked every assignment.

“Jackie had a big game for us, and Devvin Rolston did too. Our post players stepped it up. Overall we got a lot of people action on the court and never let down.”

Central fell to 1-17 overall and 1-12 in the league.

The Queens host North Scott Friday.

On Saturday, Clinton entertains Dubuque Wahlert at Ashford University.
