Prince of Peace senior Eric Sikkema had the best day Monday at the Preston Boys Golf Invitational at Plum River Golf Course, but it was Camanche that grabbed the team title.

Sikkema shot even par on the par-72 course to finish nine strokes ahead of Marquette Catholic’s Isaac Sturm, who placed second. Sikkema birdied the par-5 third hole, the par-5 12th hole and the par-3 13th, while recording bogies on the par-3 No. 2, par-4 No. 5 and the par-5 16th holes.

Sikkema shot 1-under par on the back nine.

The Indians were led by Andrew Keeling’s 84, but it was Camanche’s consistency that carried it to the team title. Keeling finished fourth and Brady Grell grabbed fifth with an 85. Mike Sullens shot an 87 to tie for sixth. The other scoring round for the Indians was Alex Goodwin’s 89, good for 12th.
