CLINTON — Ashford University hosted three athletic events on Tuesday. Both soccer teams and the volleyball team played at home, with the women's soccer team emerging as the only victor.

The men's soccer team played to a double overtime 0-0 tie with Mount Mercy College in their Midwest Collegiate Conference opener.

The women's soccer team blanked Mount Mercy College 3-0, also in its conference opener. Ashford goalkeeper Kylie Willet earned her third consecutive shutout, and freshman Amanda Campos scored her team-high sixth goal.

The volleyball team lost to Grand View 3-1, its first MCC defeat this season. The Saints lost the first game, bounced back to win the second, but they couldn't maintain the momentum in the final game.
