Northeast girls take second place at Tri-State track meet

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Camanche, Northeast and Preston’s girls and boys track and field teams traveled to Platteville, Wis. to compete in the Tri-State Invitational on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville recently.

The Northeast girls finished second as a team, while Camanche and Preston finished sixth and 11th respectively.

The Rebels were led by a win in the 800-meter run by Casey Morgan in a time of 2:24.65 and Shawna Spain’s win in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.86.

Camanche’s McKinzie McDaniel took gold in the 55-meter dash with a clocking of 7.82.

Preston’s top finishes were second place efforts by Brook Tebbe and Trista Shannon in the 55-meter hurdles and the 400-meter dash respectively.

The Northeast boys placed fifth, Preston tied for eighth and Camanche tied for 10th in the boys portion of the meet.

Preston’s Jordan Cornilsen led the Trojans with wins in the 200 and 400 with times of 23.05 and 51.52 respectively.

Northeast’s Ryan Krogmann set a meet record with a 2:04.19 clocking in the 800 to lead the Rebels. Northeast also took a relay win in the 4x800-meter relay.

Camanche’s top finishes were a second place showing in the 4x800-meter relay and a third place finish by Blake Bark in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.92.
