BELOIT, Wis — The Clinton LumberKings have lost consecutive games for just the second time this season after an 11-3 setback to the Beloit Snappers in Game 3 of their series Wednesday night.
Things started well for Clinton, which scored three times in the top of the first inning. But, the L-Kings didn’t score again and Beloit scored three in the first, three more in the third and five times in the fourth.
Clinton’s Jonathan Greene was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Mitchell Moreland was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
L-Kings starting pitcher Jorge Quintero (2-1) was knocked around for 11 earned runs on 13 hits in just 3 1/3 innings.
The teams close out their four-game series tonight at 6:30 p.m. Clinton then heads to Cedar Rapids for a three-game set.
