CHS swimmers fall
CLINTON — Clinton High School suffered its first conference loss, falling 130-56 to defending champion Bettendorf in girls swimming Tuesday night.
Libby Hess and Taylor Rippon posted the lone victories for the River Queens. Hess edged Caitlin Campbell by .34 of a second in winning the 200-yard individual medley in a quick 2 minutes, 19.65 seconds. Rippon won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.28.
Hess almost was a double winner, but she was edged by .12 in the 100 breaststroke. Rachael Shermer won that race in 1:10.30.
