CLINTON — Clinton did the little things right, and in return, the LumberKings finished off a sweep of the West Michigan Whitecaps on Monday with a 3-2 win.
Alex Jackson proved to have the go-ahead hit in the fifth inning by breaking a 1-1 tie with a two-run single.
Arturo Nieto and Luis Liberato scored on the play.
Gus Craig also homered in the second inning on a line drive that barely went over the right-field wall at Ashford University Field.
Clinton's bullpen had another strong outing. Kevin Gadea pitched four innings after Pedro Vasquez won his first game with a five-inning, four-hit outing.
Gadea allowed one run on two hits and walked two hitters. In all, West Michigan had 10 baserunners and left seven men on-base.
Clinton is off on Tuesday and will start a six-game road trip to Lansing on Wednesday, and Great Lakes over the weekend.
