MANLIUS, Ill. — Morrison battled back from an early deficit, scoring four runs over the final three innings to beat Bureau Valley 6-3 on Tuesday and remain unbeaten in Three Rivers Conference softball.

The Storm led 3-1 after scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Morrison came back with one run in the fourth inning, two in the fifth and two in the seventh.

Marie Deter, Kerrie Tenboer and Keisha Hodge each had a pair of hits and two runs batted in for Morrison (17-7, 8-0 conference).

Newman edges Prophetstown/Erie

PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Sterling Newman scored in the top of the seventh inning to beat Prophetstown/Erie 2-1 on Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference softball.

Each team scored in the first inning, then went scoreless until Newman scored in the seventh.
