MUSCATINE, Iowa — Big games from senior Marly Bussa and junior Madi Parson helped the Camanche Indians edge Central Lee-Donnellson in overtime 68-63 to advance to the next round of regional play in Iowa Class 3A.

The final buzzer went off with the two teams tied 57-57, and the Indians outscored Central Lee 11-6 in overtime to take the postseason win.

Madi Parson led the team offensively with 21 points, all but two of them coming in the second half of play and overtime. Parson went 7-8 from the free-throw line, including making big buckets in overtime for the Indians.

Marly Bussa was right behind with 20 points. Most of Bussa’s points came in the first half of play, including draining three 3-point field goals in the first quarter.

Hanna Nissen had 12 points for Camanche, hitting four of the team’s nine 3-point baskets. The Indians shot 15-21 from the free-throw line as a team.

The Indians advance in the postseason to take on Assumption High School this coming Saturday at Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf.

River Queens eliminated

EPWORTH — The Clinton River Queens ended their season with a 59-30 loss to Western Dubuque on their home court on Wednesday night.

The River Queens were only able to put 14 points on the board in the first half, allowing Western Dubuque to more than double up on the score.

The Bobcats continued to build on the lead in the second half.

Megan Gandrup led the River Queens with 11 and was the only athlete to reach double digits.

Sarah Goldensoph pitched in another eight points and Macy Mulholland had five.

The River Queens ended their season with a 5-17 record.
