PEORIA, Ill. — Sophomore Koby Brackemeyer of Morrison finished 40th on Saturday at the Illinois Class 1A boys cross country state meet.
Brackemeyer turned in a time of 15 minutes, 49 seconds on the 3-mile course at Detweiller Park.
Wyatt McIntyre of Athens was the individual champion in 14:25, finishing 5 seconds ahead of Logan Hall of Arthur. Dawson Smith of Rock Falls took 15th in 15:17.
Elmwood won the team title with 150 points, 14 better than Rockford Christian.
Matthew Richtman of Maple Park Kaneland won the 2A title in 14:23, edging Sterling's Jacob Gebhardt at the finish line. Mahomet-Seymour repeated as the team champion.
Downers Grove North was the 3A team champion, and Danny Kilrea of LaGrange Lyons was the individual champion in 14:08.
In girls competition, Emma Argo of Eureka won the 1A title in 17:34, Jenna Schwartz of Waterloo was the 2A champion in 17:05 and sophomore Katelynne Hart of Glen Ellyn Glenbard West repeated as the 3A winner in 16:22.
Sterling Newman's Karlie Hey placed fourth in the 1A girls race in 17:48.
Tolono Unity edged St. Joseph-Ogden 108-110 for the 1A team crown in a flip-flop of last year's top two. Dunlap won in 2A, and defending champion Naperville North won in 3A.
